- Successfully hosted and led an intellectual property rights discussion forum at the Chandaria Business & Incubation Centre, engaging over twenty (20) incubates in discussions on innovation and intellectual property rights protection.
- Part of the team that drafted and published the Kenyatta University Copyright Information Booklet on behalf of K.U. Intellectual Property Unit.
- Advised an agripreneur technology company operating at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and training on matters involving trademark and copyright infringement. The company provides digital tools, branded content, and capacity-building programmes for farmers and agribusinesses, and our advisory focused on protecting its intellectual property assets and brand value.
- Advised a technology company developing an Internet of Things (IoT) software platform on a dispute involving breach of contract and copyright infringement. Our role included assessing ownership of the underlying software, reviewing partnership and non-disclosure agreements, identifying acts of infringement, and advising on enforcement options, including pre-litigation strategy and risk mitigation.
- Successfully handled copyright registration instructions for two training manuals, ensuring statutory protection of original instructional content used in commercial training programmes.
- Carried out trademark registrations for both individual training manuals and an overarching training brand, providing comprehensive brand protection and positioning the client to commercialise their content through licensing, franchising, and structured training engagements, while reducing intellectual property risk.
- Successfully represented a leading Kenyan Bank in an injunctive application seeking to restrain the Bank from exercising its power of sale over a charge property, where the loan obligation stood at Kshs. 11,000,000 and where the application was dismissed.
- Successfully represented a Kenyan cleaning services company in debt recovery proceedings in the Small Claims Court of Kenya and which led to payment of the debt owed in less than four (4) months.
- Represented a Kenyan restaurant in an employment claim against a former employee for unfair and unlawful termination, seeking compensation, which was dismissed.
- Successfully represented a leading Kenyan Bank together with its subsidiary in negotiations in a claim for compensation arising out of a road traffic accident, where the claim against the Bank and the subsidiary was withdrawn.
